i'm in a art show on saturday night at the FUSE gallery in nyc. big group show, lots of names, and the theme for the show was "songs or music that inspired you" to become an artist or something along those lines. i think that's what my friend who curated the show told me that that's what the show is about, was just asked a few days ago to be a part of it, could barely hear him over the music blasting at Lit.

here's what i made. i guess the music that inspired me was the "crow" soundtrack and a jam band compilation tape i got from a friend when i was smoking pot as a teenager.

in 6th grade i was in a gang called "the x-rated posse". we were 4 rich white kids wearing starter jackets with matching hats (we looked like the white version of "another bad creation") and we went around writing graffiti the school bathrooms, sold fireworks to classmates, broke stink bombs in nerds backpacks and shoplifted cd's from sam goody on the weekend, then made mix tapes and sold them for double because there were parental advisory stickers on the cd's so parents would never buy them for their shitty brat kids.

we were 11 years old and way more bad ass than this group of middle aged men called "the food liberation army". you're asking yourself "who is the food liberation army and what do they do?" well, they're a gang of middle aged men who recently kidnapped a ronald mcdonald statue and held him hostage and will only give the statue back to mcdonalds once corporate tells them whats exactly in mcdonalds burgers and why the company exploits minorities. seriously guys?? there's people out there still fighting against mcdonalds food? even the fattest, broke new york city teenager knows that a burger there consists of shitty rat meat, worms and additives.

one time in san francisco i left a restaurant with half of a roast beef sandwich left over to take home to enjoy later that night, wasted at 3 am. i was walking down haight street (sorry, i was really wandering around there) and this squatter kid asked if i had any change to spare for some food. i knew my money was just going to right up his arm or in his liver, so i told him i had an extra sandwich he could have to eat. i mean, i always feel bad for teen runaway, granted he was a squatter punk and probably had his parents mastervard in a wallet, but still he was keeping the dream alive and was in character at that moment so i figured i might as well feed his cause and end his withdraw.

the squatter looked at me asked if there was meat in the sandwich. i told him "yes, it's roast beef". he looked at me with his sunken eyes and said "nah man, it's ok, i don't eat meat". i started laughing and told him not to be so fucking picky. as i walked away, he then had the nerve to ask me if i had some change. i said "hold a sec" reached into my pocket and fumbled around for some change. his eyes lit up and his withdraw sweat came to a halt.

i pulled the change out of my pocket and his ratty dirty hand extended, he thought he hit pay dirt that afternoon, but i thought likewise and went to teach him a lesson about being picky and greedy when if came to a handout. i had the change in hand, turned around and fed the parking meter right behind me. his beady eyes looked like they were about to burst into tears. i looked and said "sorry man, i have to feed my meter coins. i doesn't eat credit cards" and then walked away. it wasn't even my car. now that i look back i wish i hadn't done that, i really needed those quarters 20 minutes later so i could hop the bus home. karmas a beautch.

i'm a fan of honesty, so these kinda homeless dudes i help out.

i can totally relate to this guys story, because i too have bit a man's genitals before... only it wasn't in self defense, it was out of pure 20 year old country boy moving to the bright lights of the big city, boy curiosity. it's a classic story that a majority of guys my age have told their therapists or to friends over a few pints of mikes hard lemonade at a bar. i was in college, flat broke, listening to electroclash, toting an asfour purse and having a sexual identity meltdown. at an after hours club one night in williamsburg, i met a rich gay arab man who offered to pay my rent and tuition if i had a few bobbing for adam's apples sessions with him that night. not really sure if he was arab, gay or wealthy, i was so high on E that he could have been a paki cab driver wearing a rain poncho for all i know. so anyways went back to the soho grand, and attacked his junk like pacman at feeding hour. i needed the money real bad, so i had to get it over with before my senses kicked in and the E wore off.

since i've had about 2 blow jobs in my whole life and have watched plenty of episodes of "queer as folk" i thought i would be a pro at giving them back to a dude. totally not the case and i've embarrassed myself yet again. not by giving a gay arab a beej while high on E for some cash, but for using too much (false) teeth.

i learned two lessons from this altercation:
1) remove dentures before a beej. i was unaware of the pressure false teeth can apply, so when i got punched in the head for teething too much, the dentures locked at the base and we had to rush to the hospital and the doctors needed to use the jaws of life to pry the teeth off.
2) get money up front.

sadly, it's stories like this that put my town on the ridiculous news spotlight map, and never a positive news worthy article like a story about a poverty stricken kid with terminal brain cancer who cheats death on a regular basis, but leaves the hospital every morning and travels 50 miles by wheelchair to volunteer at a homeless veterans shelter to serve breakfast or a story about a high school kid who tucks a kid with MS into bed every night because the child's parents are too old and frail to do so anymore. it's always something dumb like this one about a guy riding a rascal down a highway or a hot sauce truck crashing into a bar and dumping hundred of pounds of hot sauce onto the street the day before superbowl sunday. (true story, it was from the bar i used to work at when i was 18. read about the post here. it's pretty funny.)

this was one of my favorite seinfeld episode. matter of fact i've been have a seinfeld marathon for the past month and a half. re watching every season since season 1. not sure if anyone else out there has been doing the same but if so, watch the bonus features "notes on nothing". it has interviews with the writers sharing stories about how they created each episode. about 75% of the show comes from their experiences. pretty fucking funny.

i'm generally not a fan of people winning anything involving money from fine dining establishments like mcdonalds, because 90% of the time the retards don't even deserve to be seated in a mcd's, but this guy seems like a genuine dude and i'm happy for him. you can tell just by the way he talks that he's ready to actually move on, get out of his folks house and invest the money wisely. usually it's some toothless crackhead who wins the big bucks and ends up telling the news crew they're going to purchase some dumb shit like be share holders in pharmaceutical companies, own shares of stock in cutting edge internet technology, invest in a start up communications software company, pay off their credit card debt, and not spend their money wisely on actual things like a money down on a new condo, a leather couch from cb2, rims for an acura, flat screen with xbox 360 kinect.

the catch to his big winnings is that the million is paid over a 20 year span. so after, uncle sam gets his cut and ronal mcdonald gets his, he will probably get about (i'm not an asian nerd so i'm making a guess) about $10,000 a year, which is probably less that what an employee makes at mcd's. he's unemployed and has a shoe in teh door now with mcd's, so maybe he should see if they;re hiring!

it's sad that we live in a time when cee-lo can receive a Grammy nomination for a break up song called "f**k you" and a rap group with an texting/internet acronym (lmfao) puts out a song about doing "shots" (pretty sure these 2 songs are being played at high school dances), but a bunch of happy nerds wearing Christmas sweaters, handing out candy canes to get classmates in the holiday spirit get into trouble because teachers think the canes will be used as weapons. bah humbug.

like a true 80's surf kook, i'm more of a t&c surf design/ budweiser kinda guy, but this boozy land shark pictured below just convinced me to make the switch over to ron jon and loko. not because he was drinking a banned beverage which is popular for alcohol poisoning and date rape among the college crowd or the fact that he created the created the ron jon shark. i'm only making the switch over because of the tattoo he revealed on his wrist when the cop pulled him over. i had a four loko for the first time on halloween and just ended up dancing with drunk college girls all night at a bar, then did the same at a house party, so i really didn't see what all the fuss surrounding four loko was about. it came to my attention the next day that the bar was an abandoned burned out school bus in the woods and the house party was actually a basement of a housing project in compton, and all the "girls" i was dancing with were used cpr dummies stolen from the psych ward.

sorry for the hiatus readers!

i was in las vegas for a 4 days on a job (my face will be covering the city of vegas and LA in january...more about that later when i'm allowed to announce what it was for!) and i have had NO time to use the computer because i was on set all day as the "talent". i really hate vegas (because i'm broke and i no longer do cocaine) and it actually bums me out to be an american when i'm there. plus i hate to gamble and my friends call me "the cooler" (like the character william h. macy played in that movie) because i ruin peoples winning streaks. i had $20 to my name the entire time, so what do you do when you're down and out in vegas? you put whatever money you have to your name on a game and pray. well, the indian spirits were on my side cause i went to the roulette table, put $10 on red and $10 of red 14 (my bday is the 14th), dealer dropped the ball and it landed on red 14! boom! jackpot. won $350. perfect timing cause i still owe $150 on rent, $100 to DWP and a $55 parking ticket. everyone at the table was shocked, including the girl i have a crush on. she asked how i did that, i grabbed the chips, winked and said i was blessed with luck, then grabbed my chips (probably tripped over my feet and crashed into a blackjack table) and cashed out. sadly, the next day i was lured into a strip club by my friend, so we took a limo (which was comped to him the previous night) to the spearmint rhino and within 20 mins of being there, i lost the $100 to a black stripper named desiree and $250 to a 20 year old with a chinese letter on her lower back who kept talking about her child at home.

got back from vegas, and had a a few hours to relax until my entire family came to town the next morning to celebrate my 30th birthday (which is actually tuesday, so don't forget to send me nude pics and presents.) i'm a little worn out and mentally drained from that experience, so hopefully when my brain starts working again and i come out of my terri schiavo food coma, i can write a bit.

a couple of months ago my buddy josh contacted me to be a part of a group show-charity auction to promote movember. (check link, too lazy to explain) TOMS shoes donated a few pairs to artists and the rest of the artists made paintings or hung photographs. here's what i made. when you put on the 3D glasses the lines move! i pitched the idea to them, but they rejected it, so that means they'll take my idea and run with it. story of my life.

later that week i was in another art show for new era hat co. 90th anniversary. 90 artists were commissioned to create an original idea for a hat. i went with the 3D concept again. just like the shoes, when you put on the 3d glasses the lines move! it took 2 1/2 weeks to create both of these concepts (all brush and ink stokes) and i had a splitting headache the entire time. i pitched this to them as well and was denied. either way these were fun to make and all my friends and family want a pair of the shoes or hats so i know i did a good job.

a few weeks back, my bro chuck of thecast asked me to participate in a group art show he was throwing at his store and "punk" as the theme for the artists involved. i was too lazy to go to the mall and look for korean teenagers and tanned leather faced milfs from the valley wearing tee shirts that said "PUNK" bedazzled in rhinestones across their chest, so rather than wasting my precious time wandering around the promenade and melrose ave looking like a creep with a camera phone just to grab a few pics of what punk means to me these days, i drew something instead.

i had a tee company for quite some time and now do shirts for a line in LA and i think the most i've ever made off an order was like $2,000 a season, total. i mean i don't have the best stuff around, but people like it and some places buy it, hell my mom wears my stuff and she would never be caught dead wearing a bedazzled shirt that says "tough bitch" and this chick is now a millionaire? i just don't get it.

it's true though! take a break from your blog or livejournal, go do a bunch of depressing shit in the real world with your friends (not cyberfriends), look at old posts when you're drunk in bed and feeling nostalgic, maybe start a new relationship with a secret blog (you'll never find mine!! it's boring anyways, just dark teen angst heartbreak/goth poetry slam writings), put posts on facebook and only get a few people to see it, then one morning in bed drinking a cup of coffee and reading a news story about a guy who masturbated in a theater while watching the new harry potter movie, that the blog and i are meant for each other and i have to post this and write some crash garbage and post the story and pictures for everyone out there to see! shit, this is what makes me happy during the day! combing for weird news stories, going on youtube, finding all types of weird picture sites and posting it up on here to entertain for a bit. so maybe i'll never be a writer on conan, or get a book deal from this or even have ad's on here, but fuck it, who cares, this is just an outlet for me to ramble and people like it and i get emails wondering where i've been.

i want to say i've been in india soul searching or at a meditation retreat in tibet, at promises rehab sleeping with damaged starlets, or even working at some cool job that i can brag about and network with people, but i haven't. just been finding myself. i had to get a full time job (which i quit after 2 months) to pay rent, moved around and now living back in a men's shelter, suffered some heartbreak which was karmas way of repaying me for all the hurt i've caused to other s(and helped rack up a healthy dose of antidepressants and therapy bills, took on a bunch of freelance work, went on a spiritual journey (on mushrooms), and for the past 6 months i have been hard at work drawing, writing, animating, doing voice overs and pitching the pilot and 7 minute short for my animated tv show (with the help from my friend hak). i gave birth to it a few weeks ago, and now it's out there in the networks hands to hopefully make something happen with it and have it open new doors or i'll kill myself on my 30th bday if it gets rejected by everyone. kidding.

anyways, i'm back on the internet. love it or leave it, i need the internet and the internet needs me. pathetic.

not sure if any of you readers out there have seen this, but my hero's tim and eric of tim and eric awesome show wrote and directed the new old spice commercials starring terry crews (the horny dude form "white chicks"). here's all the new old spice commercials compiled into 2 minutes of insanity. after watching this couldn't decide if i wanted to stop watching tv altogether because this was so overwhelming...or...get into advertising to make people go insane.
